WE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WANT TO LOOK YOUR BEST.

No Longer Limited To Wires, Brackets And Bands.

Orthodontics is no longer limited to wires, brackets and bands. This is a welcome advancement for most teens and adults who dread wearing unsightly metal braces to gain a straighter smile. Cardinal Dental is proud to offer the most proven and preferred solutions in orthodontics. Dr. Blalock is qualified to offer treatments that correct crooked teeth, gapped teeth, underbites, overbites and crowded teeth. Unlike past orthodontic models, our options fit into your lifestyle and help you retain a healthy, confident smile during treatment.

At Cardinal Dental, we understand that you want to look your best. After all, your smile is often the first thing that people notice about you. When you smile, do you feel confident? Many of our patients approach us wanting to improve the appearance of their smiles with orthodontics, but do not want to commit to the traditional bracket-and-wire braces that are noticeable and can be inconvenient.

Let’s face it, most adults these days have busy professional and social lives that traditional orthodontics might not fit into. That is why Dr. Cynthia Blalock sought out a more convenient option to improve the appearance and function of your smile.

What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign® is an innovative and discreet way to straighten misaligned teeth. Whether you dislike the appearance of your smile or you have difficulty with your bite due to overcrowding, overlapping, or oddly spaced teeth, Invisalign may provide the solution you have been looking for.

Using clear plastic aligner trays, Invisalign gradually moves your teeth using constant low-force pressure. As long as you are wearing your Invisalign trays, your teeth are moving. For the best results, you should wear your trays for at least 22 hours each day.

About every two weeks, you can trade in your aligner trays for new ones that take you one step closer to your ideal smile.

Benefits Of Invisalign®

How Invisalign Works

When you visit our St. Peters, MO dental office, Dr. Blalock will perform a complete oral evaluation to make sure Invisalign will work for you. It works best for older teen patients and adults who want to solve simple orthodontic issues without braces.

Once we determine you are a good candidate for Invisalign, we will take impressions, digital x-rays, and diagnostic images to send to our trusted dental lab where they will create your clear aligner trays.

When you receive your trays, we will recommend that you wear them for about two weeks before trading them in for the next set of trays in the series. Wearing your aligner trays as recommended is essential to the success of your treatment.

As your treatment progresses, we will schedule periodic exams to make sure your treatment is on track.

Once you complete treatment, you will need to wear a retainer, as with any orthodontics, in order to keep your teeth from drifting to their original location. Wearing your retainer is part of your orthodontic treatment and will protect your new smile!

The Importance Of Straight Teeth

Crooked or gapped teeth undoubtedly affect your smile appearance. However, straight teeth offer far more than desirable aesthetics. Teeth that are well-spaced and aligned are also healthier. This is due to the fact that crooked or crowded teeth are harder to keep clean. In addition, straight teeth help your jaw to function properly. Misalignment can put unnecessary strain on certain jaw muscles, putting you at risk for TMJ discomfort down the road. To boost your smile appearance and protect your oral health, consider straightening your teeth with Dr. Blalock in St. Peters.

Cardinal Dental offers orthodontics for teens and adults who are good candidates. We always pursue the latest technology and techniques in modern dentistry, which often means safer, faster and more comfortable treatments for our patients. Contact our St. Peters office today to schedule your consultation for clear orthodontics.
